Equipment role

Sand Washer Application

Sand washing equipment is used when manufactured sand or aggregate requires cleaning, dewatering and removal of fines or clay contamination. It is normally considered together with VSI or sand making equipment, screens, water supply, slurry handling and final product storage.

Selection basis

Process Fit

Selection starts from material condition and plant target, then moves into machine model, chamber configuration, drive power, foundation, conveyor routing and long-term wear-part planning.

Suitable materialManufactured sand, aggregate fines and washed aggregate feed
Plant roleCleaning, washing and dewatering after crushing and screening
Process inputsClay content, fines content, water condition and target sand quality
Common circuitSand maker + screen + washer + conveyor or stockpile

Washing and separation

The washer supports cleaner final sand by separating fines and surface impurities.

Water handling

Water supply, settling pond and slurry management must be planned with the plant layout.

Sand quality control

Output quality depends on feed condition, washing time and dewatering arrangement.

Wear and inspection

Wear liners, paddles, bearings and drive components require routine inspection.

Technical parameters

Model Reference

Representative parameter data is organized for preliminary selection. Final model selection should be confirmed against material test data, feed grading, operating hours and plant layout.

Selection itemEngineering referenceWhy it matters
Feed conditionManufactured sand or aggregate finesDetermines washer type and capacity
Clay/fines contentMeasured before process designAffects washing intensity and water demand
Water systemWater supply, return and settling arrangementControls operating cost and environmental compliance
DewateringScreen or washer discharge conditionAffects final moisture and stockpile behavior
MaintenanceBearings, liners and drive partsSupports stable long-term operation

Final model selection requires sand gradation and site water condition review.
